About Us

The inn’s name, “Grits and Grace,” embodies the harmonious fusion of resilience and hospitality. The name itself serves as a narrative.

Guests unwind in vintage-inspired rooms adorned with antique furnishings and personal touches that evoke a sense of home, as each corner holds a unique story.

  1. Learn how a Polish artist commissioned to paint exhibits for the Worlds fair in New York City in 1939 has an impact on the furnishings of the INN.
  2. Step back in time to the arts and crafts era to enjoy Mrs. Ethel Horne’s collections from France and Italy or the costume jewelry collection of over 100 brochettes. One of the well-known artists, Miram Haskill, designed jewelry for Lucille Ball and Joan Crawford.
  3. The southern charm and love for primitive antiques brings us to the 3rd story for you to enjoy with before and after pictures of the INN from the owners, May Roberts and her daughter Kay Frensley were owners of the INN from 1977 to 2018.
  4. The 4th unique story is the 2-year project for which Grits and Grace Inn was restored to serve travelers with southern hospitality reflecting kindness and elegance another 125 years.

Despite its historical roots, constructed in 1900, the inn seamlessly integrates modern amenities into its timeless charm, catering to travelers seeking both comfort and authenticity.

Each morning commences with delectable homemade breakfast favorites, including creamy grits, buttery biscuits, and house-made preserves, meticulously crafted with the same care as traditional recipes.
